General (Retd.) Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan served as Bangladesh's Chief of Army Staff from 2012 to 2015. He served in Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in UN peacekeeping in Sierra Leone, and was awarded the Kuwait Liberation Medal for distinguished service.
